KitKat Chocolatory

KitKat’s opened a limited edition pop up store and it’s in Westfield Stratford…we are there 😀 We are huge chocoholics and KitKat has to be one of our old school favourite chocolates so this was a real treat.

The pop up store is running from 05th October up until 08th November.

This is the only place in Europe where you can make your own KitKat so what are you waiting for? Go! Go! Go!

It is situated outside in ‘The Street’ side of Westfield between ‘The White Company’ and ‘Zara Home’. It’s pretty small meaning if you go during rush hour you will most likely be stuck waiting outside in the cold.

Once inside you are greeted by really friendly staff (Hi Thuy) who will explain the concept and help you get started.

The store is decorated in their signature red and white with an awesome display of the limited edition KitKats. The far end of the store is where the magic happens. The staff work behind a glass panel so you can see your creation come to life.

Its very simply just choosing your base from three options:
White chocolate, milk chocolate and dark chocolate.

Followed by three toppings of your choice: shortbread biscuits, cocoa nibs, hazelnuts, pistachio, brownie, salted caramel, pretzel, marshmallow, popcorn (And a few more..)
Next you can select a design for your box, a name and a tag to go with it and you’re done. This is the part we were not aware of and could have potentially put us of placing our order…There is a 2-3 hour wait from placing your order to getting your KitKat.

This is because the KitKat’s are made fresh in store so they need time for the melted chocolate to set. So we suggest popping into the store first, placing your order and then using the waiting time to grab some lunch and maybe even shop. You are required to give your email address and/or your phone number so once your order is ready you will be notified with a text and you can come pick it up.

We made a White Chocolate bar topped with cocoa nibs, brownie bites and hazelnuts 😀 So so good!

You also have the option of picking your own packaging to customise it. So, you get a selection of different background to choose from, and then finally you add your own text and pick a slogan from the options listed. We went with a background of Cats – ob..viously (HP fans, feel me here!) representing our JMA mascot, along with JMA personalisation on top of the box, and a cheesy slogan to go with.

If you don’t want to wait for your ‘creation’ then you can always buy a limited edition flavour bar.

The flavours rotate every week and are not revealed until they are out. We tried to ask the staff but they ‘swore’ they do not know what is coming up. This week’s flavours are ‘Sticky Toffee Popcorn, Almond and Salted Caramel Brittle (That’s just one..) and Black Forest Gateau. We picked the Sticky Toffee Popcorn flavor 😀

I really want to try the Matcha flavour so hopefully it will be there when we visit next (Yeah I’m going again xD)

The ‘limited edition’ flavour is £3.50 and it’s the normal 4 line KitKat. The ‘create your own’ KitKat is £7 and you get 2 sets of 8 bars making 16 mini lines (Yeah Maths xD)

If you are a chocoholic or a fan of KitKat then we highly recommend this pop up. Make a day of it, visit Westfield Stratford and enjoy your KitKat’s on your commute home 🙂 Friendly staff, reasonably priced and so damn tasty.
